This song was added for Lina to sing in the stage version of the show. It was so fun to play with the voice to make it mine. This was the only time I was really able to stray from the film and do my own thing, which was refreshing.

No, No, NO!

No, No, NO!

We took this photo before we went outside to film "The Dueling Cavalier." It was a blast to re-enact! We used Old Main on North Central College's campus as the "castle," and even did some stunt work!

"Singin' In the Rain" was my favorite musical growing up. The Lina voice quickly became a parlor trick for me at family gatherings. My college professor Brian Lynch knew this was one of my dream roles. I got a call from my friend who was stage managing, telling me that I really needed to come in and audition. I went in and sang, and the rest is history!

Ta Te Tee Toe Too!!

This was by fair my favorite scene! It's such an iconic part of the film, and it was such a rush in the first read through when I opened my big "Lina" mouth, and all my castmates began to laugh.

I grew up watching slap-stick comedians like Lucille Ball, the Three Stoogies, and The Marx Brothers. Every comedian's dream is to get a pie in the face! This scene was different every night, and it was hard to keep it together, especially when the pie pan stuck to my face and wouldn't slide off.

"Would You"

"Would You"

One of the many things in the stage version that is different from the film is that Lina sings "Would You" with Kathy behind the curtain instead of "Singin' In the Rain." Brian is a big time fan of the film as well, so he made sure to incorporate the "Singin in the Rain" arms into the choreography.

I spent many a summer and college production with a lot of the people on this stage. It was really nice to be able to share the stage with castmates who had as much love for the show and the film as I did. Also, working with Brian Lynch is always a blast for me. He strives for perfection in everything he directs, which made this experience extra special.
